HP is really going green. The Company has gone beyond mere rhetoric to using 100% recycled material for its photo paper production and more so introduced a company policy of buying only from certified sustainable forest product suppliers. The commitment does not end there – HP is utilizing four times more recycled materials in the manufacture of its inkjet products. As if these impressive efforts are no achievement, it intends to further enhance the energy efficiency of its machines by up to 40 percent.
HPs constant environmental innovation has not gone unnoticed. More companies have been supportive of the Company’s initiatives and have in their own demonstrated greater patronage of HPs products or devised complementary environmental programs to complement that of HP.
Here is the case of one such company.
11FTC Enterprises Inc. is a commercial printer which goes about its daily business routine like any other commercial concern. But the company has one big difference that makes it a truly green establishment. The company has chosen to go green and therefore relies on HPs suite of environmentally-friendly products to achieve that goal. Top further their environmental goal, 11FTC’s choice has been HPs energy efficient printers. recyclable ink cartridges and recyclable media.
To a large extent, 11FTC relies on HP Scitex and HP Designjet printers to offer its high-end consumers the A class quality advertising stationery and marketing merchandise they always insist on. Its plant at Novaliches, Quezon City produce all of its products in an environmentally-friendly way.
The company has invested in HP’s large-format printers for a good reason. This machine work on non solvent-based substances and thus help the company go green. According to 11FTC’s General Manager, John Gilbert Madarang, the returns on these printers are largely calculated on the extent to which they have helped the company keep to its pledge of a greener earth. Intensive use is made of the revolutionary HP DesignJet L65500, HP Scitex XL1500, HP Scitex FB6100, and HP Scitex XP2300 printers which use UV inks and water-based solvents to work.
John Gilbert Madarang, the General manager of 11FTC explains his preference for HP products to The Philippine Star:
"Our use of HP’s large-format printers is a testament that we are leading the industry toward a solvent-free future. HP digital printers also allow us to enable our clients to go green and help build a sustainable planet."
The benefits for the consumer are too enormous to enumerate. To mention the least, this innovative technology reduces air pollutants that destroy the ozone layer and reduces costs associated with environmental clean up.
The use of environmentally responsible printing products does not end with big companies like 11FTC only.
